The Met Office has issued multiple Status Yellow weather warnings for wind and rain across the UK.
Today (Tuesday, January 10) there are three warnings of rain in place for west Scotland, northwest England and parts of Wales. Persistent heavy rain can be expected in these areas, as well as possible disruption to journeys and flooding of a few homes and business.
Flood warnings for specific areas can be found on the Environment Agency’s website for England, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency’s (SEPA’s) website for Scotland and the Natural Resources Wales’ website for Wales.
These rain warnings are only in place for the day.
In the north of Scotland reaching up to the Shetland Islands, there is a wind warning in place, where strong winds are likely to cause some disruption.
Tomorrow (Wednesday, January 11) the northern Scotland wind warning will expire at 10:00a.m, however a new rain warning is in place for parts of southwest England and Wales; this will remain in place until 5:00p.m on Thursday (January 12).

The forecast past Thursday through Saturday, as of today, is for unsettled conditions with rain or showers, heavy at time in the west. Strong winds with the risk of gales or even severe gales can be expected too, however no warnings are in place.
It will be mild in the south, colder in the north.
