Warwickshire police responded to an incident in Brinklow yesterday (November 3), where an escaped bull had to be shot after he was discovered on the loose in a public vicinity near Rugby Road.

After much deliberation of the various options available to allay the situation with a local vet and farmer, the police confirmed that the decision was taken for a trained farmer to shoot the bull dead.

Warwickshire Police assured the public that the decision was “not taken lightly, however, the risk to the public, road users and those dealing with the situation was considered too high for any other course of action to be considered”.

Richmondshire police

Meanwhile, police in Richmondshire are reportedly investigating the theft of an off-roader that was located within hours of it being stolen.

Police confirmed that the Kubota RTVX900 agricultural buggy was stolen overnight between November 29 and November 30 from a shed at Forcett Hall, a grade one listed English manor house located in Forcett village in North Yorkshire.

Through joint work with Durham Constabulary, officers from Richmond Neighbourhood Policing Team swiftly located the vehicle in a remote wooded area on the outskirts of Darlington within six hours of the initial report.

Neighbourhood Policing constable, PC Alex Wilkinson said: “Officers from Richmond Neighbourhood Policing Team take this crime very seriously and we will continue to work proactively to deter, detect, and disrupt this type of criminality.

“As a Neighbourhood Policing Team we are working very closely with our colleagues across the border in Durham Constabulary, the Rural Watch volunteers, our Rural Task Force, and other agencies to cripple the crime gangs that think that Richmondshire is an easy target.

“This is a message to them, we are not an easy target and we will be knocking at their doors very soon. North Yorkshire Police is dedicated to tackling cross border crime and protecting our border regions.

“These criminals have to be lucky every time but we just have to be lucky once, with our luck being backed up by intelligence and good old-fashioned police work.”

The vehicle has since been recovered by Crime Scene Investigators for forensic evidence, police said in a statement.

Authorities are also appealing to the public for information, CCTV, and dashcam footage in relation to the theft, that may assist their investigation.
