A Co. Sligo bride arrived in style to her wedding at the weekend; on the back of a transport box.
Now transport boxes are usually associated with farm work, it’s not often you hear of a bride arriving to the reception of her wedding in one!
Catriona Lynott (née Feeney) from Cullens married Colin from Dromore West at the weekend, both locals who are farmers, the hotel said.
The bride made her way to the Diamond Coast Hotel in Enniscrone on the back of a vintage Massey Ferguson tractor, driven by her new husband.
Colin drove her into the reception on the tractor, which was very clean, to the hotel where he then reversed the tractor with his wife to her seat at the top table.
She was then escorted to her seat while he went to park the tractor.
Darragh Murphy, Duty Manager at the hotel, was working at the wedding on the day and said that the bride wore white wellingtons on her way in and had a cap on.
The guests at the reception hadn’t a clue that she was making her entrance on a transport box.
“Nobody at all knew, but we had the tractor stored since the morning and it was a surprise for the guests,” Murphy said.
What a way to make an entrance, future brides take note!
