All roads lead to Offaly today for the Tullamore Show. After a period of exceptional weather, organisers say the site is in immaculate condition, more than 600 trade stands are in place and all the competitors are in place by early morning. Judging commences at 10am.
Entertainment, food and drink will be available all day. The show executive, the 1000 volunteers and everyone involved in the show have pulled out all the stops.
Show chairman, Rodney Cox, in his first year as chairman said he is both delighted and honoured to be welcoming everyone to the Tullamore Show today.
He paid tribute to the executive, staff and the many volunteers who have put very long hours into preparing for the show a huge debt of gratitude.
He thanks the sponsors and all the business’s who continuously support the show. Cox particularly thanks his wife Sandy, daughter Lesley and son Craig for their never ending support and who have been at his beck and call throughout the year.
“Visitors will be overwhelmed and enthralled with what you will see throughout the site. Along with it being the Olympics of Irish agriculture, there is something for everyone, young and old. I hope everyone will travel safely to the show and return home safe, and that people will then say ‘This was the best Show we ever attended”.
