BASIS has announced Louise Davy, a trials agronomist, as the winner of the first BASIS Trainee member of the year award.
Davy was presented with the award at this year’s BASIS Trainee Members Conference which took place virtually on December 15.
Davy was selected from three finalists, including Naomi Menz and Joel Sarup, who were shortlisted from over 40 Trainee Members due to their engagement with the membership scheme and commitment to continued professional development.
On hearing the news that she had won the award, Davy said:
I am so pleased to have been awarded the first ever Trainee member of the year award. BASIS are a great organisation to be recognised by and I am truly honoured to be this year’s recipient.
Davy continued:
“I signed up to BASIS Trainee membership to bridge the gap between completing my degree and starting my first graduate position as a trials agronomist.
I wanted to make sure I was keeping up to date with the latest news and industry insights and BASIS have provided this through their webinars, events and newsletters.
“I have particularly enjoyed the BASIS online classroom which has given me a wider range of skills and knowledge that I believe will help me to become more successful in my current role.”
