Major “on-site” machinery dispersal sale (auction) events come up just a handful of times in any given year here in Ireland; they are a more regular occurrence in the UK – thanks to the availability of a larger pool of equipment.
One such on-site sale was held on behalf of DC & RJ Fisher & Cotteswold Contracting Ltd on Friday (September 22); the auction comprised of tractors, telescopic loaders, implements and other machinery. It took place near Cheltenham (England) – at Hampnett Manor Farm.
Cheffins is probably best known here in Ireland for its monthly Cambridge Machinery Sales auctions; these take place – typically on the first Monday of each month – at Cheffins Auctioneers’ sale grounds in Sutton, Cambridge.
Those auctions can attract up to 3,000 lots, including tractors, machinery and all manner of items. They regularly attract Irish interest – from dealers, contractors and farmers who journey across on a regular or occasional basis.
