A special, gold-liveried tractor has been commissioned to celebrate 50 years of partnership between Fendt and Belgian agricultural equipment dealer – Hilaire van der Haeghe.
The tractor has been described as a marker for their ‘golden wedding anniversary’ – hence the choice of the gold colour scheme.
“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Hilaire van der Haeghe for the excellent cooperation over the past 50 years,” said Fendt sales director Christian Erkens.
“Hilaire van der Haeghe and its team of experienced specialists and dealers have been pivotal in developing Fendt’s current successful market position.”
To celebrate this golden jubilee, Hilaire van der Haeghe ordered a ‘golden anniversary’ tractor from the Fendt factory in Marktoberdorf.
As the 724 Vario is one of the best-selling models in Belgium, the special edition tractor is none other than a 700 Series ProfiPlus model, complete with VarioGuide RTK tracking and TM1060 tyres from Trelleborg.
In other Fendt news, the tracked 900 Vario MT won the ‘Tractors XXL’ category in the ‘2018 Machine of the Year‘ competition – which was announced at Agritechnica 2017.
The judges – DLV technology editors – were apparently impressed with the combination of VarioDrive stepless drive and newly-developed spring-loaded track drive. The 900 Vario MT spans the 380-431hp bracket.
The new Fendt IDEAL combine harvester won two ‘2018 Machine of the Year‘ awards, both in the ‘Combine Harvester’ category and the so-called ‘Public’s Award’.
“It’s unusual to be able to award a combine harvester designed from a blank canvas,” explained Matthias Mumme of ‘traction’, during the awards ceremony.
Developing the combine from scratch, its designers were able to get the machine’s dimensions just right. The narrow vehicle frame of the IDEAL – at just 1.4m – provides more space for even the widest tyre or crawler track options.
“The jury’s verdict was sealed, thanks to a number of other unique technologies such as the fully automated, real-time machine adjustment, new design of grain pan and 17,100L grain tank – with an outstanding emptying speed of 210L/second.”
1,000 green giants off the line
Meanwhile, the 1,000th Fendt 1000 Vario Series tractor will roll off the production line before Christmas.
These big wheeled tractors, says Fendt, are selling not only in Europe but also in new markets, such as North America and South Africa.
The DLG Powermix Test has now confirmed diesel consumption of just 235g/kwh for the Fendt 1042 Vario – supposedly the lowest the test has ever seen. AdBlue consumption was recorded at 19g/kwh.
