The good weather the country has basked in over the past number of weeks has seen farmers and contractors take to the fields making silage and hay.
With the long hours involved in silage making, we’ve come up with some cracking tunes to help you through the hours.
Whether you’re on pit patrol or you’re out in the field baling and wrapping, there’s definitely something for everyone here!
1. Cheap Thrills – Sia feat. Sean Paul
It’s the start of another day of cutting silage and you haven’t had much sleep over the past number of days – Cheap Thrills is a great kick-starter in the morning!
2. Eiffel 65 – Blue (Lee Keenan Bootleg remix)
An essential tune for any cab during silage season. Endless head-bopping and a classic all the same, but with this remix there’s a good twist to the song!
3. Pursuit of Happiness – Kid Cudi
You know that there’s a tea break coming up at 10 o’clock and with the good weather you’ve been out in the fields since before 6 in the morning.
A great tune to get you to the house for a quick cup of tea and a biscuit before cracking on with the job.
4. This Girl – Kungs vs Cookin’ on 3 Burners
A relatively new tune on the scene – if it’s not on your playlist for silage season then you need to put it on rapid!
After that much needed cup of tea it’s a good one to get you back into the swing of things!
5. I want to break free – Queen
Ever get landed covering the pit? Then this is the song for you. In fact, this classic will brighten anyone’s day and help them break free!
6. Under Control – Calvin Harris, Alesso and Hurts
Your eyes are weary from the sun, your left leg is starting to cramp from a heavy clutch, but just remember you have everything ‘under control’ as you enter the new field with the mower.
7. Ms Jackson – OutKast
A great song for to play when it’s coming up to lunch time! It also doubles as a good apology for the farmers wife/husband when you decide to park the tractor on her Pansies or accidentally plough up the lawn!
Hopefully the weather isn’t going to break where you are too soon so that you have time for lunch…
8. Dancing in the Dark – Bruce Spingsteen
Especially for anyone who was at the recent Springsteen concerts, we’ve got this to remind you how good it was! And for anyone who wasn’t there, here’s what you missed…
9. Love Yourself – Justin Bieber
Probably more a song for between fields, but this remixed Bieber beat gives a little something extra to the original and we love it!

10. Fisherman’s Blues – The Waterboys
Finally, and in case anyone of a certain vintage is feeling left out, this should keep you happy….the sun is shining and you’ve only a few more bales to go, this is probably one of the best songs to finish with!
