The 2017 Tullamore Show and AIB National Livestock Show will take place tomorrow (Sunday, August 13) on the grounds of the Butterfield Estate, Blueball, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
The event is billed as Ireland’s largest one-day show, attracting over 60,000 visitors annually. Cattle, sheep and equine breeders from around the country take part every year, alongside entrants to its other competitions.
AgriLand visited the site yesterday to see the ongoing preparations. At that stage, the roadways and livestock fencing were in place; the larger stands had been built; and several marquees had been erected. Much of the machinery was on-site, with further truck-loads streaming in during the day.
Below is a montage of pictures, showing just some of the highlights that await visitors.
It’s not just about tractors; loading shovels, telehandlers, harvesting equipment and all manner of vehicles are also present on-site. Among the noteworthy exhibits is this Manitech M38 loader (below). Distributed by Manitech Loaders Ltd, Tyrellspass, Co. Westmeath, this addition to the line-up looks like it might appeal to agricultural contractors.
If you are travelling to the show tomorrow, be sure to check out the traffic plan.
The show-grounds are located on the outskirts of Tullamore, on the N52 Tullamore/Birr Road, approximately 7km from Tullamore town.
Free car parking will be provided adjacent to the show-grounds, with 20,000 car parking spaces available. Motorists will be directed along four dedicated routes to four car parks.
