North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a “serious collision” which occurred on the A59 at Hampsthwaite near Harrogate.

The incident happened at 7:50p.m on yesterday (Wednesday, August 14), at the junction with Burley Bank Road and involved a red motorcycle and a John Deere tractor.

North Yorkshire Police said the motorcyclist conducted an overtake of a vehicle and collided with the tractor.

Following the incident the motorcyclist was taken to hospital, where he is currently in a “serious condition”.

The tractor driver was uninjured and remained on scene to assist officers with their enquiries.

A section of the A59 was closed for several hours to allow investigation work to be carried out at the scene.

Tractor crash

A tractor drove over the side of a car which contained four passengers in a collision that occured yesterday on Sunday (August 11).

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said crews from Danby and Stokesley responded to the two vehicle road traffic collision involving a tractor and car.

The tractor had driven over the side of the car which contained four passengers.

The incident, which occured near Danby, was left in the hands of ambulance staff who had taken the driver of the tractor to hospital for treatment.

All other casualties were assessed at a public house nearby whilst crews made the vehicles safe using stabilisation equipment.
