Moy Park, one of Europe’s leading poultry producers, has confirmed the senior leadership appointment of Kirsty Wilkins to the role of human resources (HR) and organisation development director.
With processing and manufacturing units in Northern Ireland, England, France, the Netherlands and the Republic of Ireland, Moy Park claims to process over 280 million birds per year. This is in addition to producing around 200,000t of prepared foods per year.
It also reportedly has approximately 35 million chickens on the ground at any given time and claims to supply around 25% of the total western European chicken parent market.
As a result of this appointment, Wilkins will join Moy Park’s Executive Leadership Team where she will aim to contribute to the strategic development of the business.
With a career spanning almost 30 years – including over 20 years’ experience in the food industry – Wilkins is set to lead Moy Park’s HR functions and also drive its talent management, communications and corporate responsibility strategy.
Wilkins joins Moy Park from Tulip, where she held the position of HR board director and was responsible for leading the HR, learning and development and health and safety functions for the UK-based food producer.
Commenting on the appointment, Moy Park chief executive Janet McCollum said: “People are at the heart of our business and we are pleased to welcome Kirsty to lead Moy Park’s HR and organisation development strategy.
Her passion, extensive experience and knowledge of the food sector will be an invaluable asset to support the continued growth of the business.
Meanwhile, Wilkins added: “As one of the UK’s largest food businesses, I’m delighted to join Moy Park and its talented leadership team.
“Moy Park places a great emphasis on the development of its people and I’m looking forward to lending my experience and expertise to support its continued growth.”
