The National Farmers’ Union (NFU) has announced that Acorus Rural Property Services has been brought under the “NFU umbrella”, joining NFU Energy and CT Planning.
The union said the deal was made with the aim of growing a portfolio of professional commercial services available to NFU members.
Acorus is a firm of surveyors, planning consultants and architects and provides advice and support to farmers, landowners and rural businesses from offices in Exeter and Bury St Edmonds.
NFU commercial and investment director Ken Sutherland said: “We’re really pleased to announce this partnership with Acorus.
“They are leaders in agriculture and architectural design and their expertise will be a real benefit to many NFU members across the country.
“At the NFU, we are always looking to grow our range of professional services and this acquisition will add further value for our members.”
Acorus managing director James Whilding said: “Joining the NFU group of companies provides considerable opportunity to increase market presence within the property sector and capitalise on the wealth of knowledge within the NFU.
“With the day to day running of the business remaining largely unchanged, this collaboration is a perfect fit and one which offers a very exciting future for our business, our customers and the NFU.”
