Farm safety and how farmers can protect themselves and their business will be under the spotlight at an upcoming webinar, hosted by Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW) Insurance Services at the virtual Royal Welsh Show.
The event, which is open to all, takes place on Wednesday, July 21, at 10:00a.m via Zoom, and will be hosted on the Royal Welsh Show event website.
Chairing the webinar is FUW deputy president and FUW Insurance Services board member Ian Rickman.
Speaking ahead of the event, Tony Succamore, sales and operations director of FUW Insurance Services, said: “Whichever way you look at it, we have serious health and safety challenges on our farms.
Over the last twenty years, other industries such as construction and quarrying have greatly improved their safety records, while unfortunately farming has not.
“It is frightening that you are, despite everything, six times more likely to be killed on a farm than you would on a building site.
“To keep the spotlight on farm safety we are hosting a special webinar at the Royal Welsh show, which also coincides with Farm Safety Week, and we invite you to join us as we discuss the future of farm safety in Wales and beyond with industry leading experts, and highlight what steps you can take to protect yourself, your family and business.”
