Agronomy firm ProCam has extended its team in the South West with the appointment of Kevin Knight to its Cullompton-based team of agronomists.
Knight, who holds a BSc degree in Biological Sciences (University of Plymouth) and MSc degree in Applied Plant Sciences (Wye College), has worked in the UK’s arable and vegetable sectors since 2012 when he joined Agrii as a trainee agronomist and farm saved seed assistant.
He subsequently joined Zantra Ltd. where he spent five years providing agronomy advice for the full range of combinable crops as well as potatoes, field vegetables, salads and protected crops, cover crops and regenerative agriculture.
Most recently he has spent three years working as an agronomist for Pearce Seeds where his focus was on providing seed and profitable agronomic advice to growers of forage, fodder, arable and vegetable crops.
“I’m excited to be joining ProCam’s professional, friendly and knowledgeable team of crop protection specialists,” he said.
“In addition to helping farmers produce healthier, higher yielding crops, I’m also looking forward to providing bespoke crop protection, nutrition and management advice which will enable growers to protect their gross margins by keeping cropping costs to a sensible and sustainable level.”
“We’re delighted to welcome Kevin to the ProCam team,” said Diane Heath, ProCam’s UK managing director.
“He joins us at an interesting time for UK food production and know that his specialist knowledge of crops as diverse as cereals, field brassicas, salads and herbs will be a huge asset to our team in the South West.”
