The annual Durrow Scarecrow Festival starts this weekend on July 26 and runs until August 3, 2015.
The event, in its sixth year, began as a community festival and has evolved into one of national acclaim.
Last year over 18,000 people attended the festival and organisers are expecting this years event to be the biggest and best yet.
This years All-Ireland Scarecrow Championships will see over 100 scarecrows compete for All-Ireland Champion and there is a prize fund of €3,000 up for grabs, organisers say.
Organisers say the festival has something for everyone and will see the return of many favourites and the addition of new events for 2015.
There will be musical entertainment, street entertainers and craft workshops on ceramics, rush work and mandala making.
The ever popular Children’s Festival Summer Camp will take place in the Scarecrow Village from 10am-1pm and will provide children with a host of different activities over the week.
There will also be an outdoor market at the event and ‘Feirm Factor’ will take place on Monday 27 where Macra na Feirme members will compete against each other to test their farming skills.
General admission to the scarecrow village is €2 for adults, €1 for teenagers and children go free (except on Monday August 3).
