Gloucestershire Constabulary has warned people to be vigilant following a number of reports of thefts in the Cotswolds recently.
The Cotswolds thefts have included items like a trailer; farm equipment; a quadbike; and an electric bike.
The force believes the “high value” thefts occurred between Tuesday, April 18 and Wednesday, April 19.
A trailer containing farm equipment was stolen from a farm in Cirencester and a locked electric bike was stolen from a bike rack in the same town.
A quadbike was stolen from between the yard and a farmhouse in Coln St. Aldwyns. Gloucestershire Constabulary believes all of these thefts were committed overnight.
Rural crime
The force said rural crime thefts are often from farms, woodland and domestic rural locations as well as building sites, and can range from sit-on mowers and quad bikes up to very large plant and construction machinery.
It said there a number of measures that can be taken to deter thieves, prevent property being taken and to get it back safely if it is taken.
Gloucestershire Constabulary said property can be protected using:
- Trackers;
- Alarms;
- An immobiliser;
- CCTV.
The force asked anyone who witnesses suspicious activity to report it online or call 999 or 101 if a crime is in progress.
