The Oxford Farming Conference (OFC) will return in 2023 with the aim of inspiring “regeneration” in politics, society, supply chains as it is “long overdue”.
That’s according to OFC chair Emily Norton, who said: “Oxford has always been about thought leadership and pushing the boundaries of farming, but it’s also definitely about the connections and conversations had around the halls and rooms of our historic conference.
“This is why we are so excited about bringing you OFC23.”
OFC23, the 77th conference will take place from January 4-6, 2023 at the Examination Schools in Oxford University.
Tickets for attending the physical event are available on the OFC23 website as well as digital tickets that allow individuals to join a livestream of the conference.
Commenting ahead of the conference, which will have the theme ‘Farming a New Future’, Norton said:
“It is evident that crisis and conflict are at the front of our minds. Our hearts go out to those impacted both directly and increasingly indirectly around the world.
“The collective challenge is not just to avoid the mistakes of the past. Instead, it is to seek the systemic solutions that prevent poverty, environmental exploitation and ultimately conflict.
“In exploring the consequences of conflict on our farms and communities, we’re aware that we cannot rely on yesterday’s toolbox to fix today’s problems.
“Hence OFC23 aims to inspire a regeneration in our politics, our society and our supply chains, as well as our farms. This is also long overdue. It’s time to start farming a new future.”
Trinity Group
The Trinity Group will be the headline sponsor of OFC23 following a “competitive selection process”, according to event organisers.
Trinity Natural Capital Group comprises Trinity Global Farm Pioneers, Trinity AgTech and Trinity Natural Capital Markets.
The group’s aim is to provide comprehensive new-generation solutions for farmers to measure, manage and monetise their natural capital credibly and confidently.
Director of business development at Trinity AgTech, Anna Woodley, said the ‘Farming for a New Future’ conference theme is the perfect pairing for the Trinity Group.
“In this unprecedented new era for agriculture, if not for the world, it’s incredibly important to talk about the opportunities to adapt and build business resilience across the board,” she said.
“For many, OFC 2023 will be the scene-setter for discussing the cornerstones of building a thriving farm business and industry.
“Right now, our sector is experiencing unprecedented volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. In these times, new problems and opportunities require new solutions and can’t be addressed with old solutions.
“For Trinity, a fundamental part of this is using the best science and technology to gain a reliable, confident understanding of your farm’s natural capital assets.
“This means investing in an independent new generation, natural capital navigator, which delivers impartiality, scientific, practical and technological reliability. This is above and beyond what can be done with first generation tools or affiliated offerings.
“Using credible, trustworthy analytics will help farmers to confidently make decisions about sustaining the future of their farm businesses.”
