Teagasc’s winter sheep seminars kick off this week, with the first meeting taking place in Dungarven, Waterford on Wednesday at 8pm.
Teagasc are encouraging all interested parties to attend the series of seminars, which take place throughout the country in November and December.
Speaking to AgriLand this morning, its sheep expert Michael Gottstein commented that “the seminars are being organised by the different area units around the country”.
He noted topics such as nutrition, breeding, genetics, herd health and improving margins from sheep production will be discussed at the events. An external speaker relevant to the industry will also be invited by each area unit.
Gottstein said: “The seminars are something we do ever year and there always very informative for farmers. I would encourage sheep farmers to attend,” he added.
The meetings take place over the next number of week’s dates and venues are as follows:
