The Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust is set to partner with the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) for its 2023 “super conference”.

The conference, which will be held at Sandy Park in Exeter from November 14-16, 2023, is open to all members of the agricultural, horticultural, rural and land-based industries.

The event will feature 35 presentations by Nuffield Farming Scholars who have finished their international travel.

The scholars study a wide range of topics whilst travelling abroad, including issues related to food, farming horticultural and rural industries.

The three-day agenda includes a welcome buffet, formal annual dinner, two days of Scholar presentations and a pre-conference farm visit to nearby Wastenage Farms.

Director of the Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust, Mike Vacher, said the charity was “delighted” to have AHDB on board.

“As a regular sponsor of our awards, AHDB is a natural fit to sponsor this years’ conference and we are proud to strengthen the relationship between our organisations,” he said.

“With a record number of applicants for Nuffield Farming Scholarships this year, it is clear that there is a substantial appetite within the industry for leadership development opportunities.

“By partnering with AHDB, we are looking forward to showcasing the importance of leadership development and knowledge sharing to the industry’s future.”

Collaboration

Chair of AHDB, Nicholas Saphir, said the board was delighted to sponsor this year’s Nuffield conference.

“It’s a statement of collaboration between two important organisations committed to a common goal of farming excellence and an economic and sustainable future for the farming and land management industry,” he said.

“A shared vision of the power of innovation and knowledge-sharing are at the base of an already strong partnership and embodies the spirit of progress, combining our strengths to drive sustainable change.

‘’By blending AHDB’s industry expertise and outreach with Nuffield’s passion for exploration and learning, we’re fostering an environment where ideas flourish and solutions emerge.”

The Nuffield conference is open to the public and tickets are now available to purchase.
