10 Bluefaced Leicester ewes were stolen from a location in the Green, Denbigh, the North Wales Police rural crime team has said.
The Bluefaced Leicester ewes were stolen overnight on May 4 or in the early morning of May 5, 2024.
Farmers are being asked to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity or vehicles to the police.
Stolen quad bikes
Cumbria Police’s rural crime team has seized one quad bike for use in crime after two suspects linked to the thefts of two stolen quad bikes were jailed.
The quad bikes were stolen in the Keswick area, and both suspects have since been bailed with conditions not to enter Cumbria while the investigation continues.
Cumbria Police’s rural crime team thanked Northamptonshire Police officers for their assistance in the investigation.
“Lambing season has been tough enough, and we know how much our farmers rely on their quads, in addition to the impact of having a stranger on your premises stealing your property,” the rural crime team.
“We’d like to encourage suspicious activity to be reported- whether it’s a vehicle or a person causing some concern – please ring it in on 101. You might just be able to help us prevent a crime.”
Quad owners are being urged to review their security measures.
Advice from Cumbria Police’s rural crime team includes:
- CCTV and good lighting on your property- ideally this wants to have motion sensors and alert you remotely;
- Store quads out of sight, preferably secured in a building;
- Lock down the quad. Ground anchors and heavy duty chains and padlocks;
- Trackers- can detect movement and geozones can be set to give peace of mind;
- Mark your property – and advertise this fact;
- Note down serial numbers of machinery and store in a folder on your phone along with photographs.
