Norbrook Holdings, the Northern Ireland-headquartered veterinary pharmaceuticals group, has published its first-ever sustainability report.
The report highlights how the company recycles 98% of its waste, with a “groundbreaking process” for the 2% non-recyclable waste.
This material is transformed into solid recovered fuel (SRF), which is used by the cement industry as a cleaner alternative to traditional fossil fuels, which reduces landfill use and methane emissions and lowering the demand for oil, coal and gas.
Norbrook said that the cumulative effect of its greener energy transition efforts since 2016 have led to a 63% decline in its carbon emissions.

Internationally, Norbrook continues to support upcoming veterinarians in Kenya and Uganda to pave the way for healthier animals and stronger communities in the future.
Shane Relihan, chief operating officer of Norbrook said the sustainability report marks a “significant step” in the group’s commitment to ethical business practices.

“Our employees want to work for a company that is committed to doing the right thing.
“For Norbrook’s customers and partners, this means having greater confidence in our impact and knowing that our commitment to quality and excellence doesn’t happen at the expense of ethical practices.
