The latest global crop update from the HGCA provides an overview of both plantings and harvest around the world.

As at August 21:
- 94.2% of the maize area was harvested
- 100% of the wheat area was planted
- 12.5% of the sunflower area was planted
- 100% of the barley area was planted

As at August 21:
- 51.3% of the wheat area was harvested; 45.1Mt was gathered (36.8Mt was harvested by the same point in time in 2013)
- 58.5% of the winter barley area was harvested; 14.7Mt was gathered (10.4Mt was harvested by the same point in time in 2013)
- 0.3% of the maize area was harvested
- 28.5% of the rapeseed area was harvested; 609.3Kt was gathered (519.3Kt was harvested by the same point in time in 2013)
- 0.9% of the soyabean area was harvested
