A motorcyclist has died following a fatal crash with a tractor on the B9136 in Moray, and road policing officers are appealing for information.

The crash occurred on the B9136 Glenlivet to Tomintoul Road, Moray, ataround 4:40p.m yesterday (Tuesday, July 9).

The crash involved a blue New Holland Tractor and a green BMW F650 motorcycle.

Emergency services attended the scene of the incident, however the rider of the motorcycle, a 55-year-old man, died at the scene.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

The road was closed for around 10 hours to allow for investigations to be carried out.

Sgt Lesley Morrison of Elgin Road Policing, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this very difficult time.

“Our enquires are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or either vehicle prior and who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam footage which could assist us to contact us.”

Dorset tractor crash

In recent weeks, a fatal collision occurred between a car and a tractor which resulted in the death of a man in his 80s.

Dorset Police said the collision between a white Suzuki Celerio and a blue New Holland tractor occurred around 10:50a.m on Saturday, June 22, at Grants Hill at Bradford Abbas.

Emergency services attended and the driver of the Suzuki, a local man aged in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for an examination of the collision scene to be carried out.
