Lemken is continuing to develop its range of ploughs and has launched the latest model from its Diamant series, the Diamant 18.

The German-made plough is suitable for in-furrow or on-land ploughing and may be used in conjunction with a furrow press to kick off the the secondary cultivation process at the first pass.

Available in five to eight furrow versions, the main beam is of 180X180mm box section, with a 12.5mm wall thickness, enabling the plough to be used with tractors of up to 650hp and in extreme operating conditions.

Suited to dry soils

Lemken claims that this latest addition to the range is especially suited to drier conditions due to the design which is said to offer optimum soil penetration and stability.

This is due to the combination of weight and an updated wheel position, with the designers now placing the wheel behind the base frame.

By attaching it at this point, it is said to that the plough bodies penetrate the soil more reliably and maintains a more consistent dept.

Enhanced stability

In addition to better ground penetration, the plough is said to have a lower centre of gravity, which produces less rotational forces, easing the strain on the linkage and rear end of the tractor.

Lemken also points out that the plough offers impressive agility and comfort, thanks to an innovative steering system or the transport wheel.

Turning the plough on the headlands is eased by the 90° turn available in the headstock

The hydraulic steering system automatically adapts the steering angle to the turning manoeuvre which, in conjunction, with the 90°steering angle on the headstock, significantly reduces the area required to turn on the headland, minimising soil compaction and time spent out of work.

The transport wheel may also be controlled manually for manoeuvring confined areas.

The plough will be available in limited quantities throughout 2025, with full production getting under way in 2026.
