Lely is adding to its loader wagon range with the addition on the new Lely Tigo PR.
According to Lely, the new model repalces Tigo R Profi model. It says the new machine will come in three models ranges in the 31-41 cubic metre capacity. The PR 50, 60 and 70. The company says after successful introduction of the Lely Tigo XR combi loader wagon at the Lely Field days in 2012. The new PR models will combine the new features of the Tigo XR such as movable bulk head, with the tried and tested capacity of the Tigo R Profi.
Lely now says both its forage wagon ranges with their compact build and high capacity are an excellent choice for large livestock farms and contractors.
A key element of the new Tigo PR is the hydraulically adjustable bulkhead, which allows the space above the drawbar to be utilised by creating an additional six cubic metres in extra capacity.
Lely claim this has resulted in a shorter and hence more manoeuvrable wagon than comparable machines of the same capacity. It says in addition it allows the crop compaction pressure to be adjusted ensuring the nutritional value and structure of the crop is maintained. This system also cleverly distributes the weight more efficiently during transport, allowing the wagon to handle better on the road.
The company also highlights that the moveable bulkhead also assists with unloading by reducing pressure on floor chains and the drive mechanism. Lely says it provides assistance to the floor drive, by pushing the material rearward. It notes that depending on the model 10 to 15 per cent of the material is transported in the bulkhead, this also provides a significant reduction on the force required to get the material moving.
For Lely key to the wagon is its performance in terms of crop quality. It says ultimately, forage harvesting is all about one goal: achieving optimal quality material to ensure high milk and meat production.
Lely claims the Tigo loader wagon is superior when it comes to crop handling and chopping quality. It says the 25mm wide edges on the rotor tines and the minimal space for the knives ensure the best results.
The crop is drawn along the knives rather than being forced through them, an important power and fuel consumption consideration, Lely highlights.
Lely also points out the short feed channel behind the rotor eliminates mulching of wet material, and allows the forage to be compacted in the wagon faster and more consistently.
In terms of maintenance, Lely says the new 40 knife chopping system (with 0/20/40 knife selection) is easy to access. It says simply swing the knife bank to the side of the machine using the control box, or the buttons on the left-hand side of the wagon.
It claims no tools are needed for this quick and easy operation and if any knives need to be removed, the new central lock unlocks all knives at the same time and they can then be easily removed without tools.
According to Lely, the Tigo PR is the loader and silage wagon for contractors who want to benefit from the advantages of operating a combi wagon. The optional cover plate, which fits over the feed channel, allows the machine to be used as a transport wagon. As a result, Lely stresses the Tigo PR is a very versatile silage wagon.
