Deere & Company said today (July 25) that it has signed an agreement to cooperate with Vaderstad to sell its products through John Deere’s distribution channels in Russia and Ukraine.
In the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), John Deere claims to be the “leader in locally-produced, large-scale air seeding and tillage equipment”.
To further boost the “attractiveness of the product range”, John Deere and Vaderstad have agreed to provide combination air seeders as well as compact / high-speed disc seeding and tillage implements through John Deere’s dealer network.
All products will be sold under the Vaderstad trademark and brand-name.
The partnership will enable Vaderstad to “improve its access to the Russian and Ukrainian markets”. Both companies say that they will cooperate on marketing, service, training and finance – using John Deere sales and marketing channels.
“John Deere and Vaderstad will also begin a technology collaboration, ensuring Vaderstad equipment will seamlessly connect to John Deere tractors, supporting an increasing trend towards precision seeding and tillage applications,” said Aaron Wetzel, John Deere’s Vice-President, Crop Care Platform.
Last month, John Deere announced the acquisition of Mazzotti, a privately-held sprayer company based in Ravenna, Italy.
The announcement was made on June 26, in Mannheim, Germany.
“Mazzotti is known for its innovation as well as its unique knowledge, designs and expertise in the sprayer industry,” said John May, President, Agricultural Solutions and Chief Information Officer at John Deere.
The acquisition of Mazzotti provides John Deere with an opportunity to serve more customers in European markets.
Mazzotti, a family-owned firm that has been in business for three decades, will maintain its name, trademark, and commercial agreements and will continue to serve customers.
