Organisers of the 9th Livingstone Christmas Tractor Run, which is taking place virtually this year due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, have issued a final reminder to get your tractor entries in.
This famous tractor run, one of the largest in Ireland, has previously seen hundreds of tractors in attendance and since its inception has raised a total of £463,000 for local charities, including Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, Southern Area Hospice Services and Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.
The committee this year are aware of the impact that the current Covid-19 pandemic has had on local communities, and on the income charities normally receive and so they decided they wanted to transform their event into a virtual one.
This is in order to continue to help and support the three charities – Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, Southern Area Hospice Services and Northern Ireland’s Children’s Hospice to ensure their critical work in local communities can continue.
The online virtual event will also ensure the wellbeing of the thousands of the usual participants and attendees of the event, which is paramount to the tractor run committee.
‘2020 is a year we will never forget’
A spokesperson for the committee said:
2020 is a year we will never forget, but organisers want to show that our community can pull together and make sure we get those really important donations to the three charities – whilst also promoting our farming community.
“To support the online Livingstone Christmas Tractor Run you are invited to donate your normal suggested donation fee on the Virgin Money Giving website for the online event.
“Once you’ve made your donation email your reference number from Virgin Money Giving donation and a photograph or video of your tractor to the team to be included in the online tractor run video – email [email protected].
“Please submit photos and videos by December 30, 2020 to ensure they are included,” the spokesperson concluded.
