Christmas has arrived and while there may not be snow covered trees, the Christmas tree harvest has taken place!
Have you ever wondered what a Christmas tree farm looks like?
Filmed last year in Co. Wicklow, this drone video of a Christmas tree farm is sure to get you in the festive mood.
The video shows a Christmas tree farm from above, with lines and lines of trees planted.
According to the Irish Christmas Tree Growers Association (ICTGA), some 550,000 Christmas trees are expected to be harvested before end of year.
Christmas trees are grown like any other crop in Ireland, the association has said.
There are currently about 5m trees growing on Christmas tree farms around Ireland and these trees would not exist if not planted by farmers, according to the association.
Up to 350,000 trees are expected to be sold throughout Ireland before Christmas day, according to the association.
A further 200,000 trees will be exported to European markets, such as the UK, Germany and France.
The most popular Christmas trees are the Nordmann Fir and Noble Fir and the total value of the Christmas tree industry to the Irish economy is estimated to be €21m.
The association has launched the Love A Real Tree website, to provide information of choosing a tree and caring for it.
The video also has ‘Walking in the Air’ as the soundtrack.
