The Irish milk intake by creameries and pasteurisers across Ireland was estimated at 705.2 million litres for June 2013, according to information from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) released this morning.
It said this was 3.1 per cent above the corresponding 2012 figure. Comparing the June 2013 milk produce figures with those for June 2012, it showed total milk sold for human consumption decreased by 5.4 per cent to 38.6 million litres and butter production was down 8.2 per cent to 17,800 tonnes.
