Land agent at Davidson & Robertson, Alasdair Allan, has been promoted to the role of senior associate.
The rural property consultancy said Allan’s promotion recognises the experience he has gained, the increasing level of responsibility and the support he provides to the utilities team.
Allan joined the firm three years ago and as a land agent he focuses on infrastructure and utility work.
Director and head of utilities, energy and infrastructure at Davidson & Robertson, Ian Austin, said: “Alasdair gets things done and client interests are always top priority.
“He has great attention to detail and instils confidence in his clients. Talking the right language is important, so it is a real asset that Alasdair has a very practical honours degree in agriculture from SRUC and has been involved in helping their family farm diversify.
“He also has a very pragmatic outlook which helps when negotiating on behalf of his clients.
“Moving forward Alasdair will be taking on more responsibility and will also be helping develop our utilities team which is constantly growing to meet the demands of Scotland’s sustainable energy goals.”

Allan’s agricultural background has been a “real asset” to the utilities sector at Davidson & Robinson since he first joined, the consultancy said.
He now supports clients with their claims and issues and looks after projects from simple access agreements to managing multi-infrastructure schemes.
On his promotion and roles at Davidson & Robertson, Allan said: “Having a farming background gives me a practical and more empathetic viewpoint which certainly helps, but it is also important to keep abreast of what’s happening in the industry and changes to legislation as well as having a good understanding of what’s happening on each project.
“Some larger projects can last over a decade, we are often involved from beginning to end and can help police the project if it is not running as agreed.
“Whilst clients can face similar issues, every farm, every farmer and every project is different and I enjoy the variety.
“It’s important to understand what the priorities and prospects are for everyone involved in our clients’ businesses and ensure their assets are protected throughout.”
