The board of Dale Farm has set its base milk price at 41.30p/L for August supplies at 3.95% butterfat and 3.24% protein, the co-op has announced.
The constituents are plus or minus 0.01% butterfat which is worth 0.031p/L and 0.048p/L for protein, according to Dale Farm which is headquartered in Belfast.
The Dale Farm milk price for August supplies in the Republic of Ireland (ROI) is 47.60c/L, excluding VAT, at 3.6% butterfat and 3.30% protein, the co-op said.
Dale Farm is owned by 1,300 dairy farmers across Northern Ireland, England and Scotland. The co-op purchases in excess of 900 million litres within Northern Ireland.
Earlier this year, the co-op’s group chief executive, Nick Whelan said Dale Farm is planning to expand its milk pool in Northern Ireland by up to 1% per annum over the next 10 years.
If achieved, this will see the co-op processing an extra 10 million litres of milk per annum. The co-op also has a smaller milk pool in North West of England.
