The makers behind a new Channel 4 series are looking for someone with a farming background to join the cast of a new TV show.
The show will be produced by Studio Lambert, the TV production company behind shows like Gogglebox, The Circle and Race Around the World, in collaboration with Motion Content Group.
Called ‘Rise & Fall’, it will be a social experiment that explores how wealth and power shape the way people behave towards one another.
It will feature British people from different backgrounds who find themselves either in a position of power, or as part of the powerless, as inequality is explored over 18 episodes.
Scott Thomson, casting assistant producer for the show, said the team is keen to cast somebody from an agricultural background to take part in the competition series, which will feature a cash prize.
“In terms of why farmers in particular, we want as diverse of a cast as possible,” he said.
“We’re keen to have people who are the backbone of the country and do jobs that are vital to keeping everything moving.”
The series is described by Channel 4 as a “unique game packed with drama, betrayal and power plays”.
Through a series of games and challenges, those in power will be responsible for making decisions which affect those who have none, whilst those without power will have to compete to build favour with those at the top.
“The cash prize starts at zero and only builds if challenges devised by those in power are completed by those who are not,” the channel said.
“Those at the bottom must find a way to make it to the top, as only the most powerful and influential can win the game.”
