Quad-X recently formed a new division incorporating the design and manufacture of tractor machinery due to huge growth in this area.

“Blaney Agri Solutions” the name of the new division featured a number of new products at the National Ploughing Championships including a new hedgecutter model to add to their current contractor range. Their new BA93 contractor series was developed with the help of extensive consultation with experienced hedgecutter operators. Blaney claims the new model offers enhanced features a larger arm section for strength.  The bi-directional rotors offer improved rotor performance for greater efficiency and a tidy finish.  The main bushing is adjustable to extend the service life of the machine, to avoid costly strip and replace repairs. 

Blaney say that their Blaney Agri Excavator cutting head is designed to be coupled directly to your machine and claim it is capable of cutting high density material (3 years growth and more). Due to variations in pump outputs of different excavator makes and models and custom design and build of each head to suit the specific machine to which it will be fitted, in order to achieve the best output and performance. This will ensure that the machine runs efficiently, and is not overloaded during operation.  A number of special features that Blaney claim enhance the operation of the  excavator cutting heads include a unique head float system which reduces the input required from the operator and provides protection against scalping, especially when verge cutting.

Bale Shredder

Blaney claim their new bale shredder has been designed to save you time and money involved in feeding and bedding livestock, typically labour intensive jobs. Blaney say the Shredder can chop bales up to 5 times faster than a diet feeder and has been achieved by maximising material flow within the drum and rotor, through extensive computer-aided simulation and on-farm testing.

According to the company the new machine is equipped with a self-loading system, the machine can lift and load a bale all at the push of a lever.  It can deal with 4ft and 5ft bales / 1200 and 1500 up to 900kg.  Blaney say Bale Shredder has been designed and developed specifically to shred silage bales which are much more difficult to work with than straw bales, given their weight, density, moisture content and often uneven shape.
