International animal ID firm Allflex has announced that it has acquired German agricultural technology company, Agrident.
Agrident specialises in radio-frequency identification (RFID) data capture systems used in process control and animal management systems worldwide.
The firm was established in 1997 and has grown to become a leading provider of RFID technology for the electronic animal identification market.
Its fixed and mobile reader technology is understood to have been of particular interest to Allflex.
The technology offers advanced data capture features for management and traceability and has a strong reputation for its performance.
Agrident’s team of engineers, with a proven track record in developing new readers and experience in electronic technologies like ultra high frequency, will join Allflex’s research and development team.
Commenting on the acquisition, Brian Bolton, Antelliq global chief operating officer said: “We are very excited to welcome Agrident to our business.
Agrident’s RFID readers and associated technologies are a natural expansion of our smart data products and services, enhancing our capabilities in electronic animal identification and data capture.
