The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) is looking to recruit two new board members who will also be chairs for its cereals and oilseeds and pork sectors.
The closing date for applications to the positions is 12.00pm on Friday, January 6, 2023.
The board said the sector chairs will work closely with the AHDB chair, CEO and Leadership Team to prioritise delivering the sector strategies for the cereals and oilseeds and pork sectors which were released on November 10.
These strategies were launched as part of AHDB’s ‘Delivering the Future of Farming’ initiative.
Current chair of the pork sector council, Mike Sheldon, is set to step down after serving the maximum two three-year terms in the role in March of 2023.
Stephen Briggs is currently serving as interim chair of the cereals and oilseeds sector.
Board appointments
Appointments to the AHDB board are made by the Secretary of State and ministers in developed administrations. They commence on April 1, 2023 for n initial periods of three years.
Subject to satisfactory performance assessment and at the discretion of ministers, a further appointment of up to three years may be made.
Board members will receive a non-pensionable salary of £23,616 per annum, based on a time commitment of up to 72 days per year, they can also claim travel expenses.
Appointments to the AHDB board are regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
