Agriculture production, environmental conservation and consumer’s well-being are all to be discussed at this years Forum for the Future of Agriculture (FFA).
The FFA 2015 takes place in Brussels on March 31, 2015.
This year marks the eight edition of the forum and it hosts open debates on the future of agriculture.
At this years meeting speakers and panellists will be examining the agricultural issues that face the EU.
“International decision makers will seek to uncover in their debates how best to reconcile crop production with ecological preservation, bringing inventive and stimulating solutions to the table,” the FFA website states.
Leaders from international institutions “such as the European Commission, the European Council, the European Parliament, the food/farming chain, NGOs, and businesses from every sector to present their views on global food security and sustainability,” the FFA website said.
The European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Phil Hogan, will be a keynote speaker at the FFA.
One of the topics up for discussion at the 2015 Forum include “rethinking global food security and sustainable agriculture: from Europe to the World.”
“Innovation for jobs and growth through circular economy in the agricultural sector” is another topic that will be debated.
Sustainable food production and the future Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the US were the topics at last year’s FFA.
