ABP’s UK and Irish divisions have been awarded a total of 21 stars for its lamb and beef products at the prestigious annual Great Taste 2018 Awards.
Over 17 ABP meat products from the UK and Ireland were recognised at this year’s event which took place in London.
The ‘creme de la creme’ of ABP products was the company’s renowned ‘Dorset Crown‘ brand, which received four stars at the event.
Discovering exceptional produce
Since 1994, Great Taste has been discovering exceptional food and drink and showcasing them to food ‘fanatics’ and ‘enthusiasts’.
More than 100,000 products have been judged by Great Taste over the years. Each product is blind tasted by a panel of expert judges, who discuss the merits of each product in their search for those that deserve to be championed and garnered with the Great Taste logo.
The gold and black colours of the Great Taste seal are highly respected and is recognised globally.
This year, a panel of 500 industry experts were tasked to judge 12,634 products, to which they awarded 4,653 star ratings.
Star ratings are allocated on a one to three star scale. One being “simply delicious”, two “outstanding” and three, “Exquisite. Wow! Taste that!”
‘Impressive total’
As part of a highly impressive total of twenty awards, ABP received two stars awards for four of its products.
These noteworthy produce are:
- Dorset Crown Lamb Sirloin;
- Tipperary Gold Dry Aged Certified Angus Striploin Joint;
- Certified Irish Angus Rib on the Bone;
- Platinum Prime Certified Dexter Fillet Steak.
The company also received 14 one-star awards for products including: Tipperary Gold Dry Aged Certified Angus Rib Eye Joint, Platinum Prime Certified Shorthorn Striploin Steaks and Solomillo De Angus Irelande.
