A meat processor in Roslea, County Fermanagh has closed down, resulting in the loss of 40 jobs.
Empire Meats Limited, trading as Flynn’s Fine Foods, entered administration on September 4th.
Gregg Sterritt and Stephen Armstrong of Belfast-based accountancy and consultancy firm RSM McClure Watters were appointed joint administrators. They released a statement saying: “Unfortunately the Company experienced deterioration in trading over the past number of months which resulted in significant cash-flow pressures. These pressures ultimately led to the company ceasing to trade prior to the appointment of the administrators.”
“Due to the trading position of the company the Administrators regret that there was no alternative but to make the Company’s 40 employees redundant on 5th September 2013.”
Empire Meats packaged and supplied meats to retailers in Ireland and the United Kingdom and operated from a custom built factory at Roslea, County Fermanagh.
