Farmflo, the Irish farm management software start-up, has been selected to join Microsoft’s Accelerator Programme.
The Accelerator Programme is a global initiative led by Microsoft Ventures to support a small group of high-potential start-ups.
As part of the programme Farmflo will receive one-to-one mentoring from Microsoft business, tech and marketing experts.
Farmflo, the Donegal-based company, will also be given access to Microsoft services such as Azure Cloud – the company’s cloud computing platform and infrastructure – which is worth £500,000 (approx. €675,000) over the next three years.
The programme also has dedicated hubs in Bangalore, Beijing, Berlin, Paris, Seattle and Tel Aviv.
Jason Devenney, co-founder and Chief Executive of Farmflo, said that this is a fantastic opportunity for Farmflo.
“It’s humbling that a tech giant such as Microsoft is getting behind us. Sustainable agriculture is going to become increasingly important in the coming years, with farmers needing to make their farms more productive to feed our planet’s growing population.
“Our aim is to support farmers in producing more with their finite resources, and ensuring consumers know exactly where their food comes from,” the Chief Executive said.
Warwick Hill, CEO-in-Residence and MD of Microsoft Ventures, London said that Microsoft looks forward to welcoming Farmflo into its Accelerator Program.

Farmflo is a farmer friendly system designed to improve the speed and accuracy of keeping farm records for compliance reporting and traceability.
