Agri Aware is looking to overhaul the Leaving Certificate Agricultural Science paper.
Agri Aware it to work closely with its 70 patrons, representing the coalface of the Irish agri-food industry, to ensure that the new Agricultural Science specification for Leaving Certificate students is modern, relevant, and embraces key issues for the industry, now and into the future.
The Background Paper, aimed at updating the syllabus after 40 years, is now open for consultation, it says.
The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) Background Paper for Agricultural Science is now open for consultation. The paper is the beginning of a process aimed at updating the syllabus.
This is a significant development, according to Agri Award, considering that the existing syllabus was first introduced more than 40 years ago.
The Background Paper for consultation is available on www.agriaware.ieand also on www.ncca.ie, where there is a link to an online response questionnaire.
