Despite CNH’s preference to consider Case and New Holland tractors as completely independent brands, the news of Case upgrading its smaller Farmall C series comes at the same time as New Holland released details of the T5 range’s similar revamp.
Case shows every sign of continuing to use the Farmall name to reinforce the image of the machines as being user-friendly, conjuring up, as it does, images of family farms and mom’s apple pie.
Yet that doesn’t mean to say that there is anything anachronistic about the models or that Case does not feel the need for ongoing updates, as the latest machines go to show.
Comfort and usability
Case tells us that for 2025, the Farmall C tractors will include innovations that have been introduced to help improve the farming experience, starting with the 24-speed ActiveDrive 2 (Hi-Lo) transmission which is fitted to all models.
There is also the enlarged 82/l minute hydraulic pump and the newly introduced ActiveClutch feature, which allows the tractor to be held on the brake pedal without requiring the clutch, making it suitable for front loader applications.
Operators will experience a new level of control and efficiency across all the models while having access to the precision technologies that are now trickling down from the larger tractors in the company’s line up.
Driver comfort is being highlighted as a major part of the latest batch of improvements which help make long days in the field more acceptable and less tiring, chief of which is optional cab suspension.
Case increases tank capacity
A six-post cab is said to offer superior visibility, while the repositioned exhaust maintains an unobstructed view, essential working in tight spaces such as yards and sheds.
There is an increase in diesel capacity to 130L allowing for longer field operation, while the new tank design provides greater ground clearance.
Optional factory-fitted telematics available in standard and advanced packages allows farmers to benefit from real-time geo-location, machine monitoring, and wireless file transfer, should it be desired.
This precision is enhanced with the availability of hydraulic auto guidance, powered by the Case IH Pro 1200 monitor and Case IH VectorPro receiver.
Heavy lifters
An increased gross vehicle weight of 7,000kg and an upgraded rear lift capacity of 4.7t allows heavier implements to be utilised, providing greater versatility. Larger rear tyres further improve traction and flotation.
The 2025 Farmall C models will make their first appearance at the Sommet de l’Élevage in France (October 1 to 4), followed by a full European launch at EIMA International in Bologna, Italy with further developments to come in 2025.
