The Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show (YAMS) will celebrate its 10 year anniversary next week on Wednesday, February 7.
The machinery and technology show will take place at the York Auction Centre in Murton, with organisers saying it will be a “feast for the stomach as well as the eyes” for the farming community.
The show will feature 25 new exhibitors and more than 200 trade stands where visitors will also be able to sample the region’s local produce while learning updates on the latest farm machinery developments.
In 2023, YAMS broke its record for attendance, with more than 15,000 people attending the event.
Show director Richard Tasker said the change to a February date has proved a success for the event.
“We chose the beginning of February because it’s at a time of year when farmers spend a bit of time planning for the year ahead and before any spring arable work starts,” he said.
“Traditionally this a key time for machinery sales and we chose the first Wednesday in February as it’s the end of the shooting season. “
YAMS facilities
Besides stands showcasing new machinery products and upgrades, YAMS will now also feature enhanced catering in addition to the on-site Bidders cafeteria.
This includes rib-eye and sirloin steak sandwiches from M&K Quality Butchers in York while Skell Gill Farm meats from Ripon will be offering meat snacks.
Dan’s Pies from Pocklington will also be present with breakfast and meat pies.
“We have ensured that this year’s show will have more catering on site for a hungry crowd and we are delighted to be offering outstanding local meats, rolls and pies,” Tasker said.
“Supporting local producers is incredibly important and YAMS is an opportunity to show off your products to thousands of potential customers.”
There is free onsite car parking at the event for up to 3,500 vehicles plus adjacent overflow parking.
The free Grimston Bar Park & Ride service drops visitors off at the show entrance with buses running every 15 minutes.
