2025 Nuffield Farming Scholarships are now open for applications online until July 31, 2024.
The Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust (NFST) awards farming scholarships to applicants between the ages of 22 and 45 with the aim of unlocking their potential to make positive change in food, farming, horticulture and rural industries.
The scholarship enables the the scholars to study and/or travel overseas.
Scholars are selected with a view to developing tomorrow’s leaders within their individual business and the industry as a whole, the NFST said.
Director of Nuffield Farming, Rupert Alers-Hankey, said: “A Nuffield Farming Scholarship is the opportunity of a lifetime.
“Not only is it a transformative experience for the scholar, it also creates unique insights and learnings for an ever-changing industry.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to take their career or business to the next level.”
2021 Nuffield Farming Scholar, Anna Bowen, said the scholarship was an “amazing opportunity” to learn from farmers around the world.
“I saw new approaches to dairy farming that I was able to bring back to my own business as well as share with the rest of the UK industry,” she said.
“I encourage anyone with a topic they are passionate about and an open mind to consider applying.”
Nuffield will also soon offer Next-Gen Scholarships to applicants aged between 18 and 24 to help them develop their understanding of the industry as well as building their networks.
The pilot programme will run in Northern Ireland in 2024, with the scheme expanding to the rest of the UK in 2025.
