Former nature and natural land use minister Trudy Harrison is set to host four evening ‘Pie and Pea Supper Surgeries’, the first of which will take place this week.
Following the launch of ‘Trudy’s Pie and Pea Suppers’ last year, Harrison will be hosting gatherings for members of the constituency’s farming community again.
The Copeland MP will host the events in locations across the constituency in which she will share information and updates from the sector.
The ‘Supper Surgeries’ will also give the opportunity for farmers across the constituency to share ideas and suggestions with Harrison.
The location and dates of the events are:
- Bootle – Friday, January 26;
- Braithwaite – Friday, February 9;
- Gosforth – Friday, February 23.
“Last year we had over 200 farmers attend our Pie and Pea suppers, and I look forward to providing our farming community with updates and listening to their challenges and opportunities for the year ahead,” Harrison said.
“Farming is a major key contributor to our local economy and is one of the bedrocks of our local community.
“Farmers provide not just for the local community but for across the country as well, and I look forward to seeing and hearing from local farmers in the coming months.”
All events will start at 7:30p.m and include a pie and pea supper.
Those interested in attending are urged to RSVP Harrison indicating which event they would like to attend.
