The National Farmers’ Union of Wales (NFU Cymru) has announced Agri Advisor as the newest appointment to its legal panel.

Agri Advisor, with offices in Bala and Welshpool, will cover north and mid Wales and aims to complement the service already provided in south and mid Wales by JCP Solicitors Ltd., the union said.

Commenting on the appointment, NFU Cymru director John Mercer said: “We are delighted to have Agri Advisor joining NFU Cymru’s legal panel to provide specialist legal advice to our farming members in north Wales.

“We were very impressed with Agri Advisor’s submission as part of the tender process, as well as the passion and commitment the firm’s employees demonstrated to want to work with NFU Cymru and support the union’s members.”

Mercer said the union is looking forward to “establishing a strong relationship with Agri Advisor” while it works alongside JCP Solicitors Ltd.

Partner at Agri Advisor, Awel Mai Hughes, said the company is honoured to be appointed as the NFU Cymru panel solicitors for north and mid Wales.

“Our team is looking forward to working diligently with the NFU Cymru teams and engaging with members, in both regions, to provide members with the best advice and practical solutions for them, their families and their businesses,” she said.

“We are pleased to provide fully bilingual legal services with many of our solicitors farmers themselves with a strong understanding of the opportunities, and challenges, faced by our sector.”

Legal panel

NFU Cymru’s legal panel provides members with local access to legal firms providing agricultural and horticultural advice.

The legal panel complies with Solicitors Regulation Authority requirements, and NFU Cymru members can save money through the firms, as the firms offer them a discount of 12.5% on the hourly rates.

NFU Cymru said the firms can also assist in non-farming areas of law and their advice is completely impartial.
