ADAMA Agricultural Solutions has appointed Dr. Lesley Young as the company’s new head of regulatory affairs for the UK and Ireland after her predecessor, Anne Fletcher, retired at the end of 2021.
Young joins ADAMA from Staphyt Regulatory where, since January 2020, she has held the position of Business Development Manager. Prior to this, Lesley was head of Regulatory Affairs for AgChem Project Consulting (APC, part of the Staphyt Group) and has also worked within the Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD) as a Senior Scientific Officer.
Dr. Young will be responsible for communicating externally with the CRD in the UK and the PRCD (Pesticide Registration and Control Divisions) in Ireland at strategic and working levels to safeguard the ongoing approval of ADAMA’s existing portfolio of crop protection products.
She will also work internally with ADAMA’s regulatory, marketing and commercial teams on a domestic and global scale to secure the registration of new herbicides, fungicides, molluscicides and plant growth regulators as and when they are developed for the UK and Irish markets.
Commenting on Lesley’s appointment, ADAMA UK’s go to market director, Alison Bosher said:
“The role of leader of ADAMA’s UK regulatory team is a vital role not only to the ongoing success of ADAMA as the UK’s fourth largest crop protection supplier, but also to the UK’s farming and horticultural sectors to which access to existing and new crop protection products is absolutely critical.
“Lesley has a tough act to follow, but I’m confident she’ll be more than able to fill the gap left by Anne’s retirement.
“On behalf of everyone at ADAMA UK I’d like to thank Anne for her 13 years of tireless dedication to the company, and to formally welcome Lesley to the team.”
