Humberside police have released a CCTV image purporting to show a suspect in a spate of sheep thefts in East Riding of Yorkshire.

A spokesman said officers are investigating the theft of several sheep over the past few months from the same location near Howden.

The most recent theft happened between 8:30 and 10:30pm on Sunday, January 27.

Two pedigree Blue Faced Leicester rams were stolen from a field near Howden Dyke Road, Howden. Both sheep are tagged with numbers 4361K001 and 436K002. Additionally, they are data tagged.

Four other pedigree sheep (three Blue Faced Leicester and a Southdown) have been stolen from the same location in August and November 2018.

Appeal

The spokesman added: “Two people are thought to be involved in the offences, one of which is shown in this CCTV image.

If you can identify this man or have information that could help with our investigation please call us on ‘101’ quoting ’16/19638/19′.

It just comes a few days after police thanked the public for their help in the recovering six stolen vintage and classic tractors and machines worth around £100,000.

A spokesman for Stafford Police said the machines were found as a direct result of information provided by the public following an appeal.
