OBE Waste & Agri will showcase its growing range of slurry tankers at this year’s National Ploughing Championships in Co. Offaly (from September 19 to 21).
This will be the second year that OBE Waste & Agri is exhibiting at the event, which will take place in Screggan, just a few miles outside Tullamore.
Darryl Hylands, Managing Director at OBE Waste & Agri, said: “We’ll have some of our core products on display, including our innovative Slurry-TEK low centre-of-gravity slurry tanker.
“It has been designed to improve safety when spreading on hilly ground. We are the sole manufacturer of this unique tanker in the UK and Ireland.
Our design involves placing the axle through the tank – allowing the centre-of-gravity to be shifted to a point lower than on a conventional tanker. This reduces the risk of the tanker overturning.
“We’re looking forward to returning to the National Ploughing Championships. It’s a great event and it’s an opportunity for us to catch up with our customers, visitors and other exhibitors.”
OBE Waste & Agri also offers a downhill spreading kit, which is intended to give the operator greater control when emptying the tanker.
All Slurry-TEK low centre-of-gravity tankers have a 6mm steel barrel, 24in galvanised rear access dome, four fill points (two active), internal bracing and baffles, front and rear sight-glasses, galvanised mudguards, a sprung drawbar and LED lights. Available capacities range from 1,850 to 3,000 gallons.
The company also manufactures larger “conventional” tankers, up to a 4,500-gallon, tandem-axle model. All tandem-axle tankers come with a sprung drawbar, fully-welded internal barrel, anti-implosion rings and baffles and “commercial suspension”.
Based in Donacloney, Co. Armagh, the company produces not only slurry tankers and handling equipment, but also trailers and waste incinerators. The firm is active across Britain and Ireland, with a network of dealers in some areas.
